Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans.
In a bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda.

1 tsp Baking soda
In another bowl, beat sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth. Add buttermilk, vanilla, and food coloring.

1 tbsp Red food coloring,
1 tsp Vanilla extract
Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet until just combined.
Divide batter between pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
Cool cakes, then frost with cream cheese frosting.
