Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 1 tbsp salt for pasta water

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 cup vodka
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Instructions
 

  • Boil a large pot of water, add salt, and cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Add vodka and cook for 2 minutes until reduced slightly.
  • Stir in tomato puree and red pepper flakes, simmering for 5 minutes.
  • Add heavy cream and stir until combined. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  • Toss penne in the sauce, sprinkle with Parmesan, and serve immediately.
