Classic Italian Lasagna

Ingredients
  

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 oz canned crushed tomatoes

Cheese Layer

  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese grated

Pasta

  • 12 lasagna noodles uncooked
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tsp dried basil

Instructions
 

  • Cook beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet until browned; drain fat.
  • Add crushed tomatoes and basil to skillet, simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Mix ricotta, egg, and half the Parmesan in a bowl.
  • Layer sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella in a baking dish; repeat layers.
  • Top with remaining Parmesan; bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
