Penne with Arrabbiata Sauce

Spicy penne pasta with a fiery tomato-based arrabbiata sauce.

Ingredients
Pasta
- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 tbsp salt for pasta water
Sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water, add salt, and cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes and salt, simmering for 15 minutes.
- Toss penne in the sauce and serve with grated Parmesan.
Notes
Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level. Garnish with fresh basil.
