Egyptian street food with lentils, pasta, rice, and spicy tomato sauce.
Ingredients
Base
- 1 cup lentils brown
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 cup small pasta e.g., ditalini
Sauce
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 onion sliced, for crispy topping
Instructions
- Cook lentils in boiling water for 20 minutes, drain.
- Cook rice and pasta separately according to package instructions.
- Fry onion slices until crispy, set aside.
- Heat tomato sauce with cumin for 5 minutes.
- Layer lentils, rice, and pasta in bowls, top with sauce and crispy onions.
Notes
Add hot sauce for extra spice.
