Gnocchi with Tomato Basil Sauce

Soft potato gnocchi in a simple tomato basil sauce, perfect for a quick appetizer.

Ingredients
Pasta
- 16 oz potato gnocchi
- 1 tbsp salt for pasta water
Sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 oz
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 0.25 cup fresh basil chopped
- 0.5 tsp salt
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of water, add salt, and cook gnocchi according to package instructions until they float. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes and salt, simmering for 10 minutes.
- Stir in basil and toss gnocchi in the sauce.
- Serve with grated Parmesan.
Notes
Use fresh gnocchi for best texture. Add mozzarella for a cheesy twist.
