Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup All-purpose flour sifted
  • 1.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 1 cup Pitted cherries canned or fresh
  • 3 Large eggs
  • 0.5 cup Butter melted
  • 2 tbsp Kirsch
  • 1 tsp Baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans.
  • Sift flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder together.
    2 cup All-purpose flour, 0.5 cup Cocoa powder, 1 tsp Baking powder
  • Beat eggs, sugar, and butter until smooth.
    1.5 cup Granulated sugar, 3 Large eggs, 0.5 cup Butter
  • Fold in dry ingredients, divide batter between pans, and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Brush cooled cakes with kirsch, then layer with cherries and whipped cream.
    1 cup Pitted cherries, 2 tbsp Kirsch
  • Decorate with chocolate shavings.
