Strawberry Shortcake

A light sponge cake layered with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup All-purpose flour sifted
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 0.5 cup Butter softened
- 2 Large eggs
- 0.5 cup Milk
- 2 cup Fresh strawberries sliced
- 1 tsp Baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch cake pan.
- In a bowl, sift flour and baking powder.1.5 cup All-purpose flour, 1 tsp Baking powder
- Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs and milk.1 cup Granulated sugar, 0.5 cup Butter, 2 Large eggs, 0.5 cup Milk
- Fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool and slice horizontally.
- Layer with whipped cream and strawberries.2 cup Fresh strawberries
Notes
Use ripe strawberries for best flavor.
