Spezzatino di Manzo

Slow-cooked beef stew with carrots and potatoes.
Ingredients
Main
- 1.5 lb beef chuck cubed
- 2 carrots chopped
Base
- 2 potatoes cubed
- 1 cup red wine
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Brown beef in olive oil, remove.
- Sauté carrots and potatoes, add wine and 1 cup water.
- Return beef, simmer for 2 hours.
- Serve with polenta.
Notes
Add bay leaves for depth.
